My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Goodreads summary: A sensual new novel of losing control-and finding the ultimate pleasure. For beautiful erotica author Dylan Ivory, being in control is everything. Then she meets the man who is everything she is not...and everything she wants. Alec Walker writes dark psychological thrillers-and he lives for thrills. His tastes extend into the bedroom as well, where he lets no rules bind his desires. The only thing he fears is true love... While researching a book, Dylan interviews Alec-and longs to taste the temptation he offers. But he's a self-proclaimed dominant and she refuses to surrender control. Slowly, Alec shows her that by letting go and submitting to his every desire she can experience the ultimate pleasure. But to keep the woman who for the first time brings him to his knees, can Alec take the ultimate risk and surrender his heart?
Eve Berlin is the pen name of Eden Bradley, and given how much I enjoyed her novel Forbidden Fruit, I expected nothing less from this one. Eden Bradley/Eve Berlin has an addictive way of writing, she can create engaging characters and challenge preconceived ideas of sexual behavior, all the reasons why I loved Pleasure's Edge just as much as Forbidden Fruit.
While I enjoyed the story a lot, there was a point midway through the book when it becomes somewhat repetitive, and when I became impatient with Dylan's trust issues. I absolutely love it that both Dylan and Alec are writers, which brings them together in first place. There's serious chemistry between them and as you can guess, it gets very hot. There is one thing that Alec says in the novel, that practicing BDSM does not mean that he is a jackass by default and he consistently proves it. He's a true gentleman, very protective and tender towards Dylan. While he's teaching Dylan to let go of her control issues, his dominant character is put to test as well.
Sexy, smart and sophisticated, Pleasure's Edge is great read for you romance and erotica lovers, and I highly recommend it.
